About the project

The Quad 204 TMS was engineered, procured and constructed for installation within the new BP FPSO Glen Lyon for station west of Shetland. The TMS, comprising proprietary SBM Weathervanning and Swivel technology, presented a number of technological challenges in order to meet the European / UK Legislation.

As the RC Consultant to SBM the primary responsibility was meeting the European Safety Directives relevant to both the individual equipment incorporated within the TMS and the overall CE Marking of the TMS. Key EU Directives included PED, ATEX, MD and EMC. Other responsibilities included Marine Class and Operations Legislation such as PUWER, LOLER, etc.
